Sandra Marie James, 72, of Melbourne, passed away on October 12, 2021. The viewing will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 6 - 8PM at Christian Fellowship. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 10AM at Buggs Funeral home.

Sandra Marie Pittman was born to Herbert Lee Pittman and Freddie Mae Price in Melbourne, Florida on December 21, 1948. She was a graduate of Stone High School in Melbourne, Florida. In 1960, Sandra met Roosevelt James, Jr. in Melbourne, Florida and they married in 1966. Sandra and Roosevelt James Jr. were blessed with five wonderful children: Sonji, Dwayne, Latoya, Shawntina, and Sopheria. They were happily married for fifty-one years.
Sandra worked at Rockwell Collins in Melbourne, Florida for over 10 years as a Quality Control Supervisor. She went to cosmetology School and became a licensed cosmologist. She was an entrepreneur, with a successful home salon business. She was a pillar in the community who touched many lives and who was loved by many over the decades. Sandra was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church. She was a Sunday school teacher at First Church of God in Christ and Christian Fellowship. During church service, she was not afraid to play the drums; lead a devotional service or sing a solo. Additionally, Sandra was called upon many times to read poems at many church events and programs over the decades. After retirement, Sandra's favorite thing to do was hang with her only sister and best friend Shirley A. Cooper and travel with her family, including her brother and sister-in-law Chester and Mary Pittman.
Sandra was predeceased by: Roosevelt James, Jr. (Husband), Herbert L. Pittman, Jr. (Brother) and Terry L. Pittman (Brother).
Sandra leaves to cherish her loving memories: four daughters, Sonji B. Banks (Anthony), Latoya M. Mclaughlin, Shawntina C. Horton (Mitchell), Sopheria K. Lambert (Alselmo); one son, Dwayne A. James; (14) grandchildren; (3) great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley A. Cooper; two brothers, Robert L. Pittman (Amy) and Chester L. Pittman (Mary) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers, neighbors and in-laws.
