October 15, 1953 — December 30, 2025

Melbourne

Robert Martin DeWitt, known as Martin, passed away on December 30, 2025. He was born on October 15, 1953, in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Martin dedicated his life to military service, retiring as a Chief after a long career in the United States Navy. With a passion for electronic communications, he concluded his military service as an instructor, sharing his expertise with the next generation of sailors.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Martin had varied interests. An avid classic car enthusiast, he found joy in admiring vintage automobiles. In his younger years, he loved playing the guitar, filling his days with music. His intelligence with electronics made him a natural problem-solver and innovator, traits that defined much of his life.

He is survived by his only daughter, Angie Jeffcoat of Tennessee, and three grandchildren.

Martin was preceded in death by his first born son Christopher, mother, Esther (DeWitt) Sanders; his sister, Debbie; his brother, Lee.

Martin’s legacy of curiosity, mixed with a bit of comic cynicism, will be missed.
