Joseph Burton Bowden

Joseph "Joe" B. Bowden, age 59, of Palm Bay, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at home. He was born in Seaford, DE, on April 17, 1964, the son of the late Alfred T. Bowden Sr. and Barbara F. (Lewis) Truitt.
Throughout his life, Joe enjoyed doing home renovations, woodworking, NASCAR, and working outdoors. He loved his wife and family and did not know a stranger. He would go out of his way to help others whether he knew them or not. Joe was a loving and devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved by many and will be forever missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his dearly loved daughter Bethany Bree Bowden Bokun; his brother Robert “Bob” Bowden and his stepdaughter Candice Muldoon. Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Bowden; his daughters Erin Bowden of Titusville, FL and Hanna Bowden (Billy) of  Charlotte, NC;  his son Joseph Mattei of Snow Hill, MD; a stepson, Robert Tortorice (Jessica) of Palm Bay, FL;  stepdaughters Kaitlyn McDermott (Will) of Palm Bay, FL and Melissa McClung (Josh) of Palm Bay, FL; his siblings Alfred "Tommy" T. Bowden Jr. (Theresa) of Seaford, DE, James F. Bowden of Clearwater FL, Patricia Key (Gene) of Laurel, DE, and Michelle B. Hall of Safety Harbor FL; a sister-in-law Cora Lee Bowden of Bridgeville, DE; his four-legged kids Allie, Buddy, Chloe and Pebbles; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Buggs Funeral Home, 2701 S Harbor City, Melbourne Blvd, FL 32901, where friends are invited to attend. A reception will be held at Pane E Vino 1800 W Hibiscus Blvd #122, West Melbourne, FL 32901 following the service.
