John Patrick Duggan

John "Jack" Patrick Duggan, 81, of Melbourne, passed away on March 17, 2026. He died very suddenly at home with his wife Kathy at the age of 81.

Jack was born in Hartford, Connecticut to Loretta and Joseph Duggan.

Jack was working as a Master Carpenter at the state capital in Hartford, Connecticut where he met Kathy in 1990. Jack and Kathy married in 2009 joining the Duggan and Corbett clans.

Many admired his Irish pride, deep voice and dedication to service in the US Navy, Knights of Columbus and Ascension Catholic Church. Jack volunteered at Ascension Social Concerns food drives, Daily Bread food kitchen, Ascension Thrift Store, Family Promise set up and clean up, CRHP (Christ Renews His Parish) meals and clean up. Jack could be found every Sunday serving donuts, coffee, bagels and smiles. He also served all Parish functions, trunk or treat, Friday Lenten fish fries, School teacher appreciation lunch, dinners and more. He could often be seen manning the grills and fryers and most importantly assisted cleaning the grills and fryers early the morning after the events.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Loretta Duggan; mother-in-Law, Mary Corbett and sister, Bridgette.

Jack is survived by his cherished wife, Kathy Harris. He also leaves his daughters, Natalie and Jessica; son John and stepson, Matthew; two grandsons, Dante and Andrew and one granddaughter, Genevieve. He leaves behind brothers, Joseph, Edward “Charlie”, Danny, Tom, Michael and sister, Patricia. He has many loved in-laws and several nieces and nephews.

Jack led a life of adventure and fun with many dear friends and those who rode alongside him on their Harleys.

Jack had a heart of gold and was loved by all. He will be truly missed.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
