SFC James Alton Sirmons, Sr., of Melbourne, FL departed this life on October 28, 2025 at the age of 73. The committal service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025 at 1:00PM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

Sgt Sirmons was born on April 14, 1952 in Lanier County Georgia . He was the Frist born child of Arthur Sirmons and Carrie Elizabeth Wrice Sirmons.

He leaves to mourn his Spouse of 48 years, Dr. Sylvia Clark Sirmons, 4 Sons, James A. Sirmons Jr, Joshua T Sirmons (Stephanie), Roderick A Barr (Melissa), Detrick A Barr (Margaret) 8 Grandchildren, and 8 GreatGrand Children.

Jeffery Sirmons (Mary) of Lakeland, Ga., Chaplain Tony Sirmons (Tameka) of Warner Robbins, Ga., Sister Beatrice Julius of Killeen, Tx , Roosevelt Sirmons, Sister Sharon Crumpton and Eric Sirmons, all of Lakeland, Ga.

SFC Sirmons was Preceded in death by his parents, and 2 Brothers, Robert Lee Sirmons and Richard O Sirmons.

A host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins to Cherish. Many Friends and Acquaintances near and far.

SFC Sirmons completed his 20 years of service with the The United States Army, with 2 tours in Korea and 2 tours of Germany, with many accommodations. He was a Tank Commander his whole Military Career. He continued his Civil Service with the United States Postal Service for 13 years in Louisville, Ky. He was Loved by many and deeply respected.
