Mrs. Donna Katherine Kojima (née McKay), age 77, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, in Melbourne, Florida. Born on June 27, 1948, in Duluth, Minnesota, Donna lived a life filled with love, adventure, and devotion to her family and friends.
Donna graduated from Duluth East High School and later pursued her passion for helping others by earning her nursing degree from the College of DuPage in 1983.
Donna married the love of her life, Takaaki Kojima, with whom she shared 56 cherished years. Together they built a beautiful family that brought immense joy to her life.
She is survived by her husband Takaaki; her daughter Angie Sauer and her husband Jeff; her son Cory Kojima and his wife Dena; and her beloved grandchildren Darrin Eguchi (Alessandra), Lauren Eguchi, Brandon Eguchi (Destiny), Sydney Kendrick, and Kaylie Kojima. Donna also leaves behind three great-granddaughters Vivianna, Estella, and Evangelina Eguchi who were a source of endless pride and happiness for her.
She was predeceased by her parents Leonard W. McKay and Thoris McKay; her sister Carol Janssen; her brother Paul McKay; and her niece Sarah Janssen. Though their loss was deeply felt during her lifetime, Donna carried their memory with love in her heart.
Donna’s zest for life was evident in the many hobbies she enjoyed. She loved going on cruises and Disney vacations with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She had a fondness for casinos and slot machines, where she found excitement and fun. Donna also delighted in horseback riding and had a playful spirit. Donna found joy in the outdoors and adventure, snowmobiling, twirling her baton, and skiing, embracing every season with enthusiasm. She also had a deep appreciation for live music and the energy of shared experiences.
One of her favorite pastimes was going on cruises, where she could explore new places while doing what she did best—meeting people and building connections while making memories with her family.
Known for having the biggest heart, Donna was a friend to many and touched countless lives with her kindness and warmth. Her unwavering love for her family was at the core of who she was—a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
May Donna’s memory bring comfort to those who loved her as they celebrate the remarkable life she lived.
