Colby Marx Sandberg

Colby Sandberg, age 22, of Melbourne, FL, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2024.

Colby was a lifelong resident of Melbourne. He attended elementary school at Our Lady of Lourdes in Melbourne, and middle/jr high at St Joseph’s in Palm Bay. He graduated Melbourne High School in May 2020, with a 2yr AA degree in General Studies (with honors) from Eastern Florida State College. From 2020-2023, Colby worked full-time as a CNC Machinist at Beta Max Hoists in Palm Bay. He returned to EFSC in January 2024, as a full-time student, to pursue a BS degree in Biotechnology. His stated goal was “I want to learn how to use plants to help people”.

Colby was smart, funny, quiet, gentle, and considerate.  He loved gardening, nature, anime, and most of all -- his cats Raven and Skoshi. He was known on Youtube as “I don’t deserve subs” and his channel of silly, snarky videos had 40,000+ subscribers and over 3 million views.

Colby could best be described by his personal garden – he loved to explore the neighborhood and nearby woods and bring home seeds/seedlings that he did not recognize, so he could plant them “to see what they would grow into”. He had an innate ability to connect with, and nurture, things that others did not notice or value.

He is survived by his parents, Keith and Fawn Sandberg of Melbourne.
