Cheryl Jean Bloy, 71, of West Melbourne, passed away on June 15, 2022.
Cheryl Jean Bloy,71 passed into eternal rest on June 15 after an extended illness. Cheryl was born in Mineola NY on June 13, 1951, to Neil S. Whitman M/Sgt USAF RET (deceased) and Norma V. Whitman (deceased). Following her military father, she lived in many places including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, the Azores, Florida, Japan, and Hawaii. Her family settled in Melbourne in 1967 where she lived the rest of her life.
Cheryl was an avid surf fisherman, loved to camp and take long motorcycle rides with her husband. She worked for many years in the restaurant industry as a waitress, greeter, and cashier. Cheryl made countless friends as she greeted them for breakfast or lunch in her places of employment.
Cheryl is survived by James Bloy, her husband of twenty-two years a Melbourne resident, two sons, Clifford Curry of Melbourne, Kyle Curry (Valerie) of Palm Harbor, brother Neil Whitman (Melinda) of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, granddaughters Samara Curry and Kaylee Curry, nieces Laura Whitman (deceased), Lisa McClary (Patrick) and Katie Henderson (Cleve), both of Charleston South Carolina. Other family members included her great grandchildren, Tristan Curry and McKenzie Rose Board, grandnephews Owen McClary and Joseph Henderson, grandniece Vivian McClary and her uncle Don Barker.
A private memorial is scheduled with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
