Palm Bay

Beverly Hazel Lee, 83, of Palm Bay, FL, passed away on June 20, 2023. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11AM at the Episcopal Church of the Blessed Redeemer, in Palm Bay, FL.

Born Hazel Bevolyn Foster on December 30, 1939 in Trelawny Parrish, Jamaica, WI, Beverly was the second oldest of four daughters from the union of Ada Coke and Eric Foster and was the second of eight children by her mother Ada.  Early in life, Beverly was raised by her Aunt Hortense and older cousin Curla, who both predeceased her.

When Beverly was sixteen, she moved to London, England and lived there until she immigrated to Brooklyn, NY in 1966.  While in London, she met the man who would become her husband, George Lee and they were married on September 30, 1967.  As Beverly settled into marriage, she had her first daughter, Michelle followed by her second daughter, Sandra.  Throughout her time in NY, she worked as an office maintenance worker, retiring in early 2002 after 32 years of service and proud union member of 32BJ. She relocated to Palm Bay, Fl, to enjoy her retirement.

Beverly had varied interests, but is probably known for her:

1. many travels including several cruises to the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Europe, Cuba, visits to Jamaica & London, as well as serving as co-pilot on the family driving trips),

2. Love of baseball, especially the NY Yankees and the American League,

3. Cooking,

4. Passion for U.S. politics, and

5. Knowledge of all things within the British royal family.

Regardless of where she lived, Beverly always established her home church. Grace Reformed Church of Flatbush NY and Episcopal/Anglican Church of the Blessed Redeemer of Palm Bay Fl were her two cornerstone churches where she joined and served.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents (Eric and Ada), sisters (Ionie, Audrey and Winifred) and husband of fifty-two years, George E Lee. She is survived by daughters (biological and bonus) Sandra, Michelle, Paulette, Janett, Marcia, & Lorna, grandchildren Maya, Zoya, Dean, Debra, great grandchildren, Christian, Deandre & Demetri; sisters Norma and Hazel Rose; brothers Ansel (Doreen) and Melvin (Jennifer), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Beverly will be missed greatly by family and friends across many states and countries for her giving and caring heart.
