Alvin Cleveland Francis, 78, of Palm Bay, passed away on November 28, 2023. The viewing will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 5 - 7PM at Glory Bound Church of God.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10AM at the church.

Alvin Cleveland Francis, commonly known as “Ali”, 78, passed away on November 28, 2023. He was born on March 1, 1945 in Old Harbor, St. Catherine, Jamaica. As a young boy, Alvin, attended Porus Infant School and the Jamacia School Welfare where he graduated at age 15. His aspirations were to continue his education at the Vere Technical Vocational School to earn a trade. However, his plans did not materialize. He continued his efforts and enrolled at the Jamaica School earning certificates in several subjects such as english, civics, history and religious education. He was recruited into the Jamaica Constabulary Force in 1968 and completed in 1969.

Alvin worked as a law enforcement officer and excelled in the ranks of Acting Corporal until he resigned in 1981 to immigrate to the USA, settling in Boston, MA. Alvin relocated to Palm Bay, FL in 1996. He worked several jobs until his retirement and returned to college earning a bachelor’s degree in information technology in 2004 from Herzing College. He was baptized and became a member of Glory Bound Church of God New Testament on May 7, 2017, giving his life to Christ.

As a young man, he married his first wife, Ivolene Francis on August 15, 1970, until her passing. He married his second wife, Sharon Francis on August 8, 2019.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, James and Inez Francis; brother, Wesley and sister, Janet Francis.

He will be missed by children, Audley, Alvin, Lesa, Marvia, Calvin and Julaine; siblings, Wilberforce (Sam), Lancelot (Lenny), Howard (William), Condol (Claude), Sharon (Sef); grandchildren, Michael, Charnelle, Leviathan (Lia), Eric-Randolph, Arin-Ranee, Lliyah (Lia), Zoe, Maliek, and a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
