Alice Louise Van Sickle, 75, of Melbourne, passed away on March 12, 2022.

Alice Louise VanSickle passed away at her home in Melbourne, Florida on Saturday, March 12th, 2022.  She was 75 years old.  Alice was born on May 26, 1946 in New Jersey to Gertrude DeBiasa-Hughes and Roy Hughes.  She raised her family in the Catskill Mountains and worked for the New York State Department of Corrections preceding her retirement.

Alice was the proud matriarch of her family and was happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed cheering on the New York Yankees, cruising the Caribbean, researching her family’s genealogy and preparing Italian family recipes for those she loved most.

Nothing made her more proud than the triumphs and travels of her children and grandchildren.  She loved to watch them succeed, explore the world and grow their families.  Photos of family that she received would be promptly printed and displayed.

Alice will be remembered for her sharp wit, vibrancy, generosity, and for the love she had for her family and friends.  Her family will cherish Alice’s memory and the strong family structure she built.

Alice is predeceased by her husband William and her daughter Lori Sacco.
Alice is survived by: daughter Kathy Doyle, her son Richard Murden, his wife Tracy and her son in law, Tony Sacco. Alice also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: Jessica Doyle, Katie Doyle, Breona Irving & her spouse Brenden, William M Haas, Jenna Sacco, Max Haas and Lilia Murden. Alice was also a great grandmother to Liam, Hudson and Willow.

At Alice’s request, a private celebration of life will be held on a later date.
